383 Commando are currently recruiting. 383 Cdo Petroleum Troop are responsible for the handling, supply and storage of bulk fuels within a Primary Bulk Fuel Installation (PBFI), this can be either on Operations or Exercise worldwide. As we support and serve with 3 Commando Brigade, Royal Marines, our reservist soldiers have the opportunity if desired to attend the Reserve All Arms Commando Course thus earning the right to wear the coveted green beret. In recent years we have served in Afghanistan, deployed to the Falklands, and carried out training exercises in Cyprus, Germany and Norway. In addition to maintaining the unit's Petroleum Operator skills, members of the troop are positively encouraged to exploit the Army's Adventure Training opportunities; recent courses attended include Nordic and Downhill Skiing, Canadian Canoeing instructor courses in Scotland and North Wales, and Mountain Leader training in Snowdonia. We have a 'work hard, play hard' mentality underpinned by a strong Commando ethos. If you are considering joining the Reserves then drop in for a 'wet' (Brew) and a chat, or give us a call to find out more about serving in a Reserve Commando unit. 383 Commando Petroleum Troop RLC, Army Reserve Centre, Derriford, Brest Road, Plymouth, Devon, PL6 5EW.
